We are family owned & operated with great ties to our community.

Formerly started in 1976 as a franchisee of a national muffler & brake chain, we specialized in exhaust and brake service and were quickly known for our reputable owners, service technicians, and quality work.

Our first store opened in 1976 as a four bay shop on the corner of Harrison & Kimberly Road in Davenport, Iowa, shortly before NorthPark Mall was built. We started with muffler & exhaust systems, oil changes, and brake service.

In 1981, we opened our second location, in Bettendorf, Iowa at the corner of State Street & Devil’s Glen Road. We did so well, that we climbed to the top of the franchise’s charts in sales, customer service, and customer feedback. At the time, we started with 4 bays, and quickly needed to expand. In 2005, we added four more bays, one of which is large enough to handle a full size RV or bus.  Other bays accommodate full size, heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

In 1996, we built two stores at the same time, relocating our first shop 200 feet into a Brand New 8 bay shop, and opening our third store located in Moline, Illinois, at the corner of 38th Avenue & 27th Street. Our Moline store has 6 large bays to accommodate most vehicles. Our Illinois customers appreciate having a location convenient for them.

While we enjoyed being a franchise, we realized in 2006 that the time was right to become independent and change our name to QC Auto Service. We have come a long way since 1976!
